This research investigates the relationship between legal institutional arrangements, access to justice and climate-induced mobility in drought-stricken Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran. It explores how the absence of legal frameworks in mitigating climate change effects and protecting affected populations exacerbates vulnerability and migration as an adaptation mechanism. This article examines specific impacts of climate change on the environment, economy and society with a particular emphasis being laid down to long-term droughts and floods in areas where rural-to-urban movement patterns are observed. It also continues to evaluate the efficiency of current strategies in addressing climate-induced mobility and compensation access, both at national level through legislation. For this purpose, national laws like Law on Prevention of Drought Consequences and Compensation for Damages, and Law on the Establishment of the National Disaster Management Organization will be evaluated. The article will have a comparative insight. The legal gaps will be compared to international standards.
