The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented uncertainty to societies worldwide, with Latin America being no exception. In Colombia, the pandemic's arrival in March 2020 triggered a cascade of containment measures, including social distancing, border closures, and suspension of non- essential activities. This study investigates the impact of social uncertainty associated with COVID-19 on fertility in Colombia, based on a multi-method approach which combines digital demography tools with descriptive measures from births and deaths records. Our research aims to contribute to the understanding of the pandemic's far-reaching consequences on demographic trends, highlighting the need for policymakers to address the complex interplay between health crises, social uncertainty, and fertility. By exploring the Colombian context, this study sheds light on the intricate relationships between COVID-19, social uncertainty, and fertility, providing valuable insights for policymakers and scholars alike.
