ANALYSE DU CHANGEMENT DE LOCALITÉ POUR DES RAISONS FAMILIALES EN CÔTE D’IVOIRE

KOUADIO FRANCK OLIVIER YAO, Institut de Formation et de Recherche Démographiques (IFORD)

Relocation is the process by which a person or group of people decide to move from one place to another, either within the same region or to a different area. These moves are generally aimed at finding a better life for themselves. Research into relocation provides an essential empirical basis for understanding family dynamics and composition (PAILLE M., 2000). Thus, this change for family reasons is a frequent phenomenon in Côte d'Ivoire, influenced by various cultural, social and economic factors. According to the EHCVM (2018) report, around 70% of individuals who migrate, do so for family reasons. As a result, family reunions then represent the main reason for movements in Côte d'Ivoire. This study, aims to contribute to a better understanding of the explanatory factors of locality change for family reasons in Côte d'Ivoire. Using the 2018 EHCVM data, we will carry out a descriptive and explanatory analysis, using Multiple Correspondence Factorial Analysis (AFCM): this analysis will enable us to draw up a profile of individuals who have changed locality for family reasons.
