Social demography has expanded the field of demography beyond formal measures of population change to examine how economic, social and cultural institutions and processes influence populations. In her presentation, Trish will discuss the insights that qualitative research can offer demography in its endeavour to understand population dynamics and the social consequences of demographic change.
